BioI was born in Chicago, Illinois and my family moved to sunny Southern California the very next year. I grew up in Cypress (behind the Orange Curtain) and have lived in the same bitchen' house in Long Beach since 1992.
I am a singer and a trombone player. I spend a lot of time making music with lots of different people. I also do what I have to do to make enough money to keep playing as much music as I do. Sometimes I teach music, other times I work in offices or freelance as a desktop publisher, I occasionally wait tables, pose for art classes, bleach my beard and hair white and work as a Santa. I just landed a temp graphics gig that I am hoping lasts a while. During the summer and fall of 2005 I played trombone in a showband on a cruise ship. Though I enjoyed working and living at sea and earnestly hope to do it again someday, I am currently striving to make life on land work out. A few years ago I went back to school to earn a masters degree and I am still working on finishing that up. I completed all of my coursework and performance requirements quite a while ago but I am having a hard time getting my thesis project paper written. Part of my hopes for this journal are that I can get in the habit of writing and help overcome my almost pathological disdain for the applied writing process. Some of this LJ may just be my personal musings but at other times I may use it to collect my thoughts regarding my thesis topic, which is by the way, "A Re-examination of the Instrumentation of John Adson's, "Courtly Masquing Ayres" (1621).
Things is still going slow on the thesis and I have been avoiding livejournal 'cuz I've been avoiding the thesis. I like livejournal and intend to use it again regardless of the progress on that stupid thesis. SO THERE! ahem
